The Author

Sergei Itzam Coiot is a writer-artist from the Pacific Northwest. Besides The Bogs of Surrendered Names - which was a 2024 book selection by Indie British Columbia - she is the author of the forth coming dark fantasy series Aikia in Terreio. Previously published in the anthology New Voices ( Bemidji State University) and the journal Blood and Thunder: Musings on the Art of Medicine (University of Oklahoma), she writes, draws, paints and creates music. Sergei loves animals, cooking, walking along urban streets and in the rain forest, and creating worlds to get lost in. The goal in her work is to create relationship-driven stories with elements of magic woven into the plot. Her writing celebrates the weird and the quirks unique to all of us, and she loves to see all types of people and identities represented. Sergei is an author member of Alliance of Independent Authors and the Canadian Authors Association, and lives with her family in Vancouver, BC.
